X Corp. (formerly Twitter), under the ownership of Elon Musk, has taken decisive action against over 500,000 accounts in India. These suspensions, executed between January 26th and February 25th, stem from violations of the platform's established policies.

The report indicates a significant crackdown on illicit content. A staggering 506,173 accounts were terminated for the propagation of child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity. Furthermore, 1,982 accounts faced suspension due to the promotion of terrorism.
In total, X Corp. banned 508,155 accounts in India during this period. The platform also addressed 14,421 complaints received from Indian users through its designated grievance redressal channels. Additionally, 41 requests were lodged concerning account suspensions.
The company stated, "We overturned 1 of these account suspensions after reviewing the specifics of the situation. The remaining reported accounts remain suspended." They also confirmed receiving 71 inquiries related to general account issues during the reporting timeframe.
This recent wave of suspensions aligns with X Corp.'s ongoing efforts to maintain platform integrity. Between December 26th and January 25th, approximately 231,215 accounts in India were banned, along with 1,945 accounts flagged for promoting terrorism.
