NEW DELHI: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and social media influencer Dhanashree Verma have legally ended their marriage, with the divorce finalised on March 20, 2025, after 18 months of separation. The settlement, reached through mutual consent, reportedly involved an alimony payment of Rs 4.75 crore from Chahal to Verma.
The couple, who married in December 2020, parted ways in June 2022 and later filed a joint petition for divorce before the family court on February 5 this year.

The Bombay High Court played a key role in fast-tracking the process by waiving the mandatory six-month cooling period under the Hindu Marriage Act, following the couple’s joint request. This move cleared the way for a swift conclusion to their case.
Soon after the proceedings, Dhanashree signaled a fresh start with an Instagram story that read: "It's time to rise. A new chapter begins now."
In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, she addressed the speculation surrounding their relationship and stressed the need for privacy.
"There is a reason why we say 'personal life'. It has to be private. And look, a coin has two sides.
Taali ek haath se to bajti nahi. Just because I am not speaking it doesn't give anyone the power to take advantage of that. It is not correct. I think it should not happen with anybody."
Asked if she intended to reveal more details in the future, Dhanashree suggested she may share her side of the story someday.
"If you want to achieve great things, you don't have to address it again and again. I do have a lot to speak about it, I have my side of my story, do I want to delve into that? No. Do I wish to delve into that? Maybe, in the future."
