Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi has apologised to the Indian Cricket Board for what transpired after the Asia Cup Final on Sunday, September 28. India Today has learnt that Naqvi took a softer stance in the ACC meeting after ugly scenes in the Asia Cup Final, where he did not allow India to celebrate their victory over Pakistan with the winner's trophy.
Sources stated that Naqvi apologised to the BCCI and said that things should not have unfolded the way they did after the Asia Cup Final. On Sunday, after India refused to collect the trophy and medals from Naqvi's hands, the ACC chief refused to give the Indian team its deserved mementos. He instead directed the ACC officials to take the trophy and medals out of the ground.
